Great Plains Institute collaborates with a group of non-governmental organizations to represent “clean energy” interests in regional transmission planning and electricity market initiatives. This involves working through various stakeholder committees at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), the region’s electric grid operator. We strive to build momentum for a Midwestern transmission plan that accommodates high levels of renewable energy and incents energy efficiency, demand response, and other clean energy resource alternatives.
